

It's pretty much standard for an art blog to at some point give examples of figure studies. So these are both really recent.
When I was a kid and I drew still life's with my dad I would always add things like pokemon or felix the cat (and other cartoons of course) to my drawings to make the subject matter more interesting for my 5th grade mind. Basically this is a reiteration of that. I got bored and roughly added the eames ball dot pattern to a blank wooden board,

and later added in the unikko pattern to the drawing of the woman there.

think it spices things up more. At least for me it does.
I really considered adding some flat color to the drawings,(for example just coloring one chair a bright yellow) but since it was a pencil drawing I thought it might look a little off... But of course I could have used color pencil instead of marker..
This did make me really want to draw a picture of felix the cat with an Eames designed magic bag.
And now I've said it, so now I have to.
